Our First Meeting!

On August 16th, a small group of women joined together for less than an hour, shared many laughs, formed new friendships and made the first of MANY contributions to a local organization. The Charity chosen was Fauquier FISH!!! Fauquier FISH provides food to families and individuals in need throughout Fauquier County. FISH runs a food pantry as well as other programs including the Weekend Power Pack (providing at risk children with nutrition for weekends and holidays), a Senior Nutrition Program and many others. To learn more about this wonderful organization, you may visit their website http://fauquierfish.org/ We learned that FISH had recently lost a significant amount of perishable items in the food pantry during a power outage. Our vote determined FISH was our chosen charity!

During our meeting time, we learned of several other deserving organizations in our community. We look forward to hearing more about the many organizations out there that help and support our local population. Do you know of a deserving charity? Our next meeting will be in November, place and time to be determined. In the meantime, I am compiling a list of local charities and will provide that list in the forms section of our site.
